Wayang Golek

The painting depicts “Wayang Golek” (Marionette Puppet) – a traditional Indonesian puppet show of art dolls made of wood, which is especially very popular in the Sunda area, which is in the west part of Java Island. Originally I’m from Poland, but I had a chance to live in Indonesia, in west Java, for about a year and I took thousands of photos. I knew I would paint these puppets one day and finally I did it. It was a sentimental journey back to Indonesia.

Prints, framed prints, canvas prints, greeting cards, coffee mugs, puzzles, notebooks, posters, pillows, and many more are available through my shop at Fine Art America and Pixels.

Please note that actual colors may vary slightly. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor, laptop, tablet and phone screen has a different capability to display colors and that everyone sees these colors differently. I try to edit the scans of my paintings as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may vary slightly from your monitor. Colors on the screen are always brighter and more saturated.
